Starting an Assessment on DoSelect Secure Browser - Windows

This document provides instructions for candidates on how to install, launch, and use the DoSelect Secure Browser for assessments. 

Installing DoSelect Secure Browser

• To begin DoSelect installation, the candidate needs to have the installation file downloaded on their computer. 

• They can get this installation(.exe) file either through the test invitation email they may have received or via a direct download link.

• If you are a Linux user you will be given an option to select the Linux configuration. You can use the following instruction to check your Linux configuration.

• You can then proceed to download and install the secure browser for you desktop

• Click on the DoSelect Secure Browser downloaded file with the name DoSelect+Secure+Browse.exe

• The candidate must follow the below steps:

• Double click on the downloaded  file to launch installation.

• Click on “Install”.

• Once the installation is complete, click on “Close”

Other way of Launching DoSelect Secure Browser  - In case of Issues

• Click on the test link sent to you in the email to which will automatically launch the test.

• In case your assessment does not get launched automatically, double click on the installed application and paste the test access URL present in the email to launch the assessment.

• Upon launch, various system checks are performed which informs candidates about the processes that need to be completed for DoSelect Secure Browser to launch.

  • Disable Notification

    • Stop all notifications by clicking on Start > Settings > Search for  Notifications > Toggle off the notifications 

  • Disconnect any additions monitors connected

    • Disconnect any wireless or wired display connected to the desktop/laptop.

  • Close any open applications to save the progress

    • If candidate’s proceed without saving proceed the DoSelect Secure Browser will close these applications and browsers.

Attempting Test in DoSelect Secure Browser 

• Once the candidate has installed and successfully launched a test in DoSelect Secure Browser, DoSelect Secure Browser will not allow them to move out of the application before the test is finished. 

• All previously running browsers & applications are now forced closed by DoSelect Secure Browser and they will not be able to access them.

• DoSelect Secure Browser does not have any navigation buttons, but the option to Submit / Exit Assessment 

• Use Alt + F4 if you need to exit the assessment in case navigation buttons are not working at any point in the assessment.

• If the candidate attaches the cable to share screens while they are attempting the test, they will receive an alert during the assessment.

Things to remember: 

To make sure that you do not face any trouble while attempting a test on DoSelect Secure Browser, please ensure the following:

• Your OS is windows (8 and above) ; Linux Debian

• DoSelect Secure Browser requires a 250 MB  free space on the default hard drive for installation
